Quiet, Fun Sunday
Last night's party went on until around 5:00am, and I had to crash on the hosts' couch lest I drive myself to jail. I didn't get home until 9:00am, at which point I readied myself to go see my grand-niece's performance in her high school production of Thoroughly Modern Millie. As high school plays go, this one was done pretty well. The director, with whom I spoke afterward, pushes professionalism on the kids, so that any gaffes or problems were dealt with quietly and deftly, in order that no one in the audience — save the parents who saw the show for the fourth time when I saw it once — knew anything had gone wrong.
I didn't take my camera in to the auditorium, figuring that it would be rude to snap photos during the production (it was prohibited when I was in high school productions), but there were parents snapping away. Oh, well.
