In Chicago, gas has state, county and city taxes loaded up in the price, and the closer you get to Chicago, the steeper the taxes. So in Chicago today you might pay $4.25/gallon. On the same day cross the city limits into one of the suburbs, and you might pay $4.05. On that very same day then cross out of Cook County into one of the five "collar" counties (Lake, McHenry, Kane, DuPage or Will), and you might pay $3.95. Cross into Indiana and you might pay $3.65!
You wanna place any bets that the northwest Indiana gas station owners are rolling in dough?
